CC-GRIND-SOLID-DIAMOND for work on hard materials
- With the CC-GRIND-SOLID-DIAMONDversion, materials such as scale, wear-resistant coatings, technical ceramics, GRP and CRP, tungsten carbide as well as titanium-based superalloys can be processed. The solution is employed wherever conventional tools fail, e.g. for removing thick scale layers, weld seam preparation, working on wear-resistant coatings (thermal spraying and hardfacing alloys) as well as deburring technical ceramics.CC-GRIND-SOLID-DIAMOND is available in three diameters (100, 115 and 125 mm) as well as two grit sizes each (D427 and D852). Diamond grinding discs are used on commercially available angle grinders – preferably with rotational speed adjustment (reduced cutting speeds of 30-40 m/s extend the tool life). A suitable clamping flange set is included with the grinding disc.“Due to the increasing use of more wear-resistant materials and at the same time higher quality standards, it is necessary to continuously develop machines and grinding discs further – not only the drives, but the grinding tools in particular,” explains Jonas Lichtinghagen, product manager for diamond and CBN tools at PFERD. “When carbides are used as alloying additions, conventional abrasives such as aluminium oxides quickly reach the limit of their performance capability. The materials which are ever harder to process call for innovative solutions, such as ourCC-GRIND-SOLID-DIAMOND,” adds Jonas Lichtinghagen.
At the same time, the innovative tool solution meets ergonomic requirements. It contributes to sustainably reducing vibrations and dust formation during use and to improving the comfort for users, making fatigue-free and resource-saving work with optimum results in a very short period of time possible.
