NEW DASSY® SHOES: Designed to Fit Your Feet

DASSY® recently celebrated its sixteenth anniversary with a completely new look and new collections! It’s the perfect time to update the safety shoes, especially in light of the new standard in effect from March 2023, with the transition period ending in November 2024. Discover the upgrades DASSY® has introduced to provide even better protection for your feet based on the updated standards.

Before we dive in, let’s briefly explain the difference between basic safety requirements and optional requirements. To receive certification for safety footwear, basic requirements must be met. Optional requirements can be considered “extras” to offer even better protection for shoes in certain working conditions. Learn more below!

Meet Anubis, Amon, and Seth!

This trio of Egyptian-named shoes replaces the Greek-named Zeus, Hermes, and Thanos.

  • Anubis and Amon are S3S safety shoes.
  • Seth is an S7S safety shoe.

If you work in the construction sector, these shoes are your ideal partner. An added bonus: the comfort and fit have also been improved with anatomically shaped insoles.

  • Anubis is an S3S low-cut safety shoe, an excellent replacement for the Zeus, which was an S3 shoe.
  • Amon is an S3S mid-cut safety shoe, a perfect replacement for Hermes.
  • Seth is an S7S high-cut safety shoe, the new Thanos. Seth is completely waterproof!

Jupiter and Neptune Become Horus

Horus is an S3S low-cut safety shoe. So, what’s the difference from Anubis? Horus doesn’t have a protective cap. Otherwise, it meets the same requirements. It’s an ideal shoe for professionals working indoors. This model also offers increased comfort thanks to the anatomically shaped insole.

As a painter or plasterer, were you a fan of the white Neptune? Don’t worry! Horus is available not only in black but also in white.

Furthermore, Horus is available starting from size 36, making it an excellent choice for women looking for versatile safety footwear. Want to know more about Horus? Don’t wait any longer; check out the product description of Horus.

Achilles Safety Shoe

Dassy’s well-known Achilles safety shoe remains in their range but has been updated to meet the new standard. It also successfully meets three additional safety requirements:

  • Slip resistance on ceramic tiles with glycerin: the highest level of slip resistance!
  • Nail penetration resistance of 4.5 mm
  • Oil and fuel resistance

Farewell to Sparta and Corus

The S3 shoes Sparta and Corus will soon be discontinued. Are these your favorite shoes? Then it’s best to order quickly, one last time. After that, choose Nox, which is also an S3 safety shoe, or opt for the completely new Horus. What benefits does Horus offer? This pair of shoes provides more protection, is available in two colors, and starts from size 36.

Did you know…

That all DASSY® shoes have Composhank? It’s not visible to the naked eye but is integrated into the shoe sole. What does Composhank do? The Composhank feature increases the stability of the shoe at the heel and foot area. This is important because your body weight primarily rests on the heel.

Do safety shoes have a protective cap that protects your toes from impacts (falling objects) and pressure (static forces)? Protective caps are made of metal or non-metallic material. Since these two materials have their unique characteristics, two separate safety regulations apply to them.

There must be 2.0 to 2.5 cm of space under the cap after impact and pressure, depending on the size and type of cap. Two types (A and B) are defined based on the shoe’s structure. The new standard defines a higher level of safety to ensure greater impact and compression resistance.

DASSY® safety shoes, for which Kožul d.o.o. is the general representative, provide the highest level of protection available on the market today.

What Does the Updated Standard Include?

Since March 2023, there is a new standard for safety shoes: EN ISO 20345:2022. This essentially replaces the previous standard EN ISO 20345:2011.

What Changes for DASSY® Shoes?

  • Slip resistance on soapy ceramic floors, previously marked with the SRA label, is now a basic requirement for all safety footwear. This means there will be no additional markings for this requirement. An additional slip resistance test on ceramic floors with glycerin (oil solution) can be conducted as an optional requirement and will be marked SR. All DASSY® shoes have successfully passed both tests. This means achieving the highest level of slip resistance!
  • Additionally, the requirements and testing methods for the optional puncture resistance requirement have been updated. The old standard’s marking used only the letter P. From now on, the letter P will be used only to indicate shoes with a metallic midsole. Non-metallic midsoles will now be identified with the markings PL or L, PS or S, depending on the type of nail used for testing.
    • PL or L = passed the perforation test with a 4.5 mm nail.
    • PS or S = passed the perforation test with a 3 mm nail.
  • There are two new categories of protection levels for marking safety shoes that are completely waterproof using a membrane.
    • S6 = S2 + WR
    • S7 = S3 + WR
  • Shoes with a waterproof upper will be marked WPA instead of WRU according to the updated standard. The WPA marking refers to water penetration and absorption tests conducted to determine the water resistance of the upper material. The WR marking refers to the water resistance of the entire shoe.
  • Fuel and oil resistance (FO) is no longer a basic requirement.
  • Finally, there is a new optional requirement, the scuff cap, marked as SC. What is a scuff cap? It is an extra tough protective layer on the top of the shoe. It prevents rapid wear of the shoe in that area. With a polyurethane scuff cap, all new DASSY® safety shoes Anubis, Amon, and Seth meet this optional requirement.
